Goodyear screwed me over! (archive)

Posted by Matt Anderson on October 12, 2000 at 09:31:19:

I paid a local Goodyear dealer to mount and balance two tires that I brought to them on my 96 Miata.

Here is what they did...

1. Scratched the two rims, big gouges all the way around each rim.

2. Used an air tool to over tighten the lug nuts so I could not get them off.

3. Inflated all 4 tires to 42PSI, should have been 26PSI...and why did they even TOUCH the other two tires!

4. Got oil stains all over my tan leather.

#1 is the one that bothers me. The dealer is basically telling me to screw off, and so is Good Year corp. They say he is an independent dealer and does what he wants. Doug Julienne at Corp said he could have corp pay for the problem but decided not to.

The dealer is....

Arroyo Auto Service
1111 East McKellips Road
Mesa, AZ 85203

Owner is Cliff Johnson, I suggest staying away from this dealer and all of Good Year as they CLEARLY do not back up their products or service!
