I have heard the Michelin is the only one in 225/55 15. The choices are much better and cheaper in 205/60 15. I'd bet the XGT V, or Bridgestone RE71 in 205/60 15 would be just as sticky in dry performance as the 225.

Personally I think 225/50 16 looks much better and there are a ton of BMW O.E. wheels that will fit. The tires are cheaper, better performing, and there are more choices.

Are there tire sizes other than 225/55-15(OEM) and 205/60-15 (non sports suspension OEM) that will improve handling with the OEM sports suspension wheels that came with my car?

Tires now appear to be limited to one Michelin tire only. I felt that the Goodyears were better handling tires, but they are no longer in production. I like the wheels and don't want to change them.

Thanks for your input.

David
