Dunlop SP5000 Winter Experiences? (archive)

I have a 1994 BMW 530i with traction control and brand new Dunlop SP5000's. In my old E30, I had a separate set of wheels with snow tires, but now I'm wondering if that will be necessary for the 530i. Any thoughts? Will the SP5000's work for the first winter, or should I go ahead and get a set of snows?
