Tire size for 16" wheels (archive)

I'm about to get some 16" rims for my 1993 325i 4dr(currently 205/60-15). Tirerack lists 215/50-16 as a recommended plus size but an online wheel calculator also recommended 245/15-16. What is a good size? Also, does anyone have any tire recommendations(in California)? I'm looking for a good handling tire with good treadlife.
