In this case I guess "can" would be the operative word. The 8.5's up front will rub )as will the 245/40/17) and I do not suggest that you do it. However, I have seen people change camber, roll the fenders and bash out the inner fender liner to (or to try to) gain the needed clearance. My opinion in short, the mods a re a bit exessive and you will not gain much.
