Question for Tirerack, regarding tire size... (archive)

I made an order with you guys, and I picked out the ATP, S5 17x7.5 rims for my 2000 3.2TL, the tire combination online told me to choose the 215/50/17 for my tire, so I choose that, but I originally wanted 225/45/17, when I asked you guys about this, you guys said that there will be rubbing, but the online fitment guide for discounttiredirect.com, says that this 225/45/17 combo will fit on my car, I am confused, I would appreciate if you guys can look into this and give me an answer if I will be able to put on 225/45/17 tires, since if it is okay, I will be putting those wider tires when my new tires I got from you guys wears out....Thanks!!
