Downsizing? (archive)

I have a 95 318i with the following mods: Konis H&R X-brace "flipped" M3 upper strut mounts sharked M3 lower control arms and offset bushings RD-sways UUC-compevo
P-zeros 225/50/16

One of the local autocross gurus recommends "downsizing" to a 205/55/16 for more nimble handling in this low horsepower car. He feels the slight loss of lateral traction and firmer ride is more than compensated by the better/quicker steering response and the slight improvement in acceleration.

It sounds good to me! Is 205/55/16 the correct conversion? Any other comments? Any other reason I shouldn't do this?

Thanks,

Ken
