Question: Winter Tire Pressures (more) (archive)

I have an E46 328i with sport package. I've replaced the stock 17 inchers with Bridgestone Blizzak MZ-01 in 225/50R16. I drive in SE Michigan and it looks like it's going to be a bad winter.

What is the best tire pressure to use given very cold and ice/snow conditions?

What is the best tire pressure to use in very cold but dry conditions? (I'm willing to change the pressure if it helps performance and tire life)

Thanks!
