Need some advice. Just took off the summer tires from my 2000 528i, and put on my winter tires/wheels.
This is my first time cycling tires with the seasons, as I've spent the past ten winters as part of the "unwashed masses" - driving a front wheel drive Asian luxury sport sedan & didn't need winter tires.
The question is - how do I store the summer tires. I've been told to clean the tires/wheels, and store them in a cool place. I've also been told that putting the tires/wheels in dark plastic bags will keep the rubber from degrading over the winter. Will they be ok in my attic, or should I keep them in my basement? Should I coat the tires with armor-all? Should I keep the current tire pressure or deflate them slightly?
Any advice would be appreicated.
Thanks!
Jack
Just wash the wheels, put them in garbage bags and stack them on top of each other in a dry place in the basement away from the heat. Jim
Thanks, Jim !
