I had a '94 325is with sport pkg and my recollection is that the wheel size is the same on sport and non-sport. The cheap solution is to put a 205/60R-15 on your existing wheels. But you give up a little 'sport' with a narrower tire.

After an accident that trashed one wheel and tire, I upgraded mine to 225/50R-16 tires on 16" wheels and was pleased with the result. Since insurance gave me $650 or so for one wheel/tire combo, and I sold the four remaining wheels/
tires, this did not cost me much at the time.
Check out tire rack's web site for possible combinations of 16" wheels and 225/50R-16 tires. Some of the choices are priced pretty reasonably, although I don't know how much you would be willing to spend.
