I bought Dunlop Winter Sport M2's from Tirerack - I took them to a local tire store which charged $8 per tire for mounting and balancing.

The Dunlops are great. While the laws of physics still apply, I was able to nearly equal the performance of front wheel drive cars in the recent snow storms we've had in the midwest. Plus, dry and wet handling, ride, and noise are superb for a winter tire.

I will never again use "all-season" tires in the winter - there is no comparison.

Good luck.
