True Story:

I was shopping for places to install tires I
planned to buy at Tire Rack. One place, affiliated
with TR's biggest competitor, said, "we'll match
their price and have the tires here in 5 days and
charge you $25 less for mounting/balancing."

I said, fine, show me the tires. It's been 10 days,
and they haven't been able to get my snow tires in.

On Thursday night I ordered my 4 snows (Artic
Alpin) via the TR web site. Aaron made sure
they shipped on Friday, and the tires
arrived today. Had I ordered from TR in the first
place, I'd have had my snows on to help me thru
the 15" of snow we've had over the last week.
Instead, I goofed around with their competitor,
and pee'd away a week of safer driving.

Moral of the story... There's a reason Tire Rack
dominates the tire replacement retail business.
They have the best prices, and the best service.

P.S. My only suggestion to TR is to find authorized
installers in my area that charge less than $50
to mount and balance EACH tire (Discount Tire got my
installation business).
