They don't fit without modification to the camber. You will also probably have to roll the fenders. If you are looking for a direct fit go to a 235/40R17. If you haave any questions give me a call. Thank you

Sorry Jim, that's incorrect. The 17x8.5 WILL fit on a stock suspended E36 M3. All you have to do to check it is put the rears on the front (& fronts on the rears) and check the fit. This is exactly what I did prior to switching to 8.5" all around (BMW M Contour - 41mm offset).

Now, you might get some *slight* rubbing in the strut tube from the tire. I had a bit from the Pilot Sports (the rim protector feature, most likely), but not with the current Yoko AVS Sports.

I've subsequently make camber adjustments to the front, but NOT for fitment reasons (better performance at the track, actually :-)).
