Kumho 712 problem (archive)

I recently ordered a set of the Kumho 712s from Tirerack and had them mounted on my '99 540. When the tires were mounted, I immediately noticed that the steering became slightly vague and the car had a slight pull to the right. Today I had the alignment checked and everything was kosher. Tire pressures are good. The shop that did the alignment said there was something up with the tires and I should check with the place I bought them.. Well, here I am :)

Has anyone had this problem? Did I get what I paid for?
