I've been really enjoying learning to autocross my 99 Z3 2.3, and am ready to make the switch from street tires to race tires. So I need to find some light and inexpensive rims that will fit the car, but I dont really care what they look like.
In an ideal world, I would get some snazzy 17" rims for new street tires, and use the stock 16" rims for the race tires. But unfortunately that's not really an option right now. And I'd rather not spend a lot of money for nice 16" rims that I'm only using at the autocross...
From what I read in the owners manual, the wheels I need to get are designated as 7Jx16. Are there any other things I need to be concerned about - like offset or the like? I'd rather not have to deal with spacers and such and certainly dont want to have problems fitting the wheels around the breaks.
I'm in San Diego, so anyone in the area who wants to unload their stock wheels - please send me a note. :-) Otherwise, recommendations or advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Kris
