I'm not sure if it's still the case but up through the 80's rotating was not recommended. I personally have never believed in rotating tires on a performance vehicle.

As it has been explained to me, the tires on the M's are diferent sizes front and back and also directional. If this were not the case, it would make a lot of sense to rotate them as this would prevent uneven wear due to poor alignment or balancing. However, it's an M and like all high performance sports cars, it should receive regular wheel balancing and alignment checks, and this should help preserve tire life.
