If you want something along the lines of the MXX3 (i.e. great dry, not-so-great wet), I'd go with the g-Force KDs in a heart beat. I loved those tires. The were only "louder" than the MXX3s when the got older and it was louder at the limit, just louder while braking (humming, not screaching noice). I found the MXX3s to be great but VERY loud (screaming!) on the track. The MXX3s were marginally crisper as far as turn in (IMHO), but the KDs just had TONS of grip in every direction.

My only complaints were how quickly they wore (same with all high-per tires though), price and for some reason I got more nails in those tires than I'd had in all my previous years of driving (4-5 punctures!) Dumb luck I guess?

I currently have the S02s and they're absolutely incredible on wet roads. You still have to obey the laws of physics, but these really are hard to break lose on wet pavement. In the dry, they have good lateral grip but they don't like to change direction as well as the MXX3s or KDs. Turn in response is noticeably less and they hum on breaking the same way the KDs did (doesn't bother me at all, but I know you mentioned sound.) They don't scream as much as the MXX3s at the limits though.

For wet/dry, I'd go with S02s at this time of year (I'm in Cali and that's what I'm "wearing" now.. though we've had almost zero rain). For maximum dry performance, I'd go with the KDs without hesitation... though I might just go with R-compounds during the summer to save some money.
