A 245/40/18 will definitely not fit without rolling the fenders. I had to roll and trim the fender lips on my '95 M3 to fit 235/40/18 on 18x8.5 BBS RCs. I have seen another M3 with 245/35/18 with rolled fenders but I have never seen 245/40/18 with anything close to stock fenders.
