The actual radius of all 4 wheel+tire combinations is the same. Even though the rim diameter is the same all around, when the width of the tire changes, the aspect ratio - or its "thickness" from the rim to the edge of the tire has to decrease. The speedometer measures speed by the rotation of the wheels. Each wheel therefore must be the same diameter for the car to drive evenly. Here is proof. Measure the complete diameter of the spare wheel+tire combo. Then do the same for all other wheels. You will come out with the same value. However, the width of the tire in the rear will not be the same, but that is not an issue.
