Hello,

I've bought 16x8 crossspoke rims from a 740i (182 277) and wish to buy some tires and mount them on my '87 L6. The existing wheels are 6.5Jx14 ET:22mm with 205/70/14 tires on them. I'm looking at buying some Dunlop SP8000 sized 225/50/16 for these new 16x8 rims. I think the ET on the 16x8's is 23mm, I think...

Given my calculation ----((1.5in x 25.4 mm/in)/2)+ 1mm --- the new rims will be 20.05mm closer to the strut tower. Given that my existing tires are only about 6-9mm now from the strut tower, will a 15mm spacer prevent rubbing? Do I have to go with a larger spacer or reduce tire size?

Also, I've noticed that since lowering my 6, negative camber has increased slightly in front and back. Will adding additional positive camber (through an adjustable shock mount plate) affect this tire to strut tower clearance or does it not change?

Thanks for your help!

Scott
