Scuffed rims on M-Coupe (archive)

Anyone have an idea on how to refinish rims with cosmetic scuffing. My M-coupe rears have curb scrapes (don't ask) around the edges and the BMW dealers (Allison BMW) recommended wheel refinisher said they could not match the quality/color of the BMW powder coated finish on these wheels adequately. Replacements are expensive. These stock wheels look like polished alum but actually are powder coated high-gloss alum color like most stock BMW wheels. Scuffed areas show underlying primer coats...
