If you have the money to buy either one - I would definitely go with the X5. This opinion comes from a non X5 driver so it is unbiased. The X5 looks amazing inside and out. Also the 5 series sedans and wagons are going to be redesigned in 2003 ( if you care). If it was my choice I would go with the X5 - however both are great vehicles.
