I'm shopping for a roof box for my X5 (long trip coming up...). Does anyone have experience with any of the following roof box brands on their X5: BMW, Packasport, Yakima, Thule? Any advice? Is the more expensive BMW box worth it?

If you have the trailer hitch on your X5 consider a storage box that uses the hitch rather than a box on top. I have the website if you want it.
