Having no luck at getting universal transmitter in my 3.0 to accept code to open my garage door. Door opener is new and supposed to be compatible. Have followed directions in manual with no success. Any help appreciated.

Try the following instructions - or call the Home line support line or visit their web site
http://homelink.jci.com/gettingstarted/garage.html

Perhaps look for issues dealing with rolling codes.

Failing that do what my neighbour did when HE could not get his programmed - tried till his wife got fed-up waiting - she read the manual and did it herself.

Cheers

Programming Procedures
(including additional information received from Home Link support at 1-800-355-3515)

To program Garage Doors “only”

1. Hold 2 outside buttons for 20 seconds - lights on solid then rapid flash.
- This erases the previous settings for all 3 buttons.
2. Hold desired button and active the portable transmitter - hold it close to the unit.
3. The car transmitter will flash slowly at first and then flash rapidly when it has accepted the new signal.
4. If it does not flash rapidly try moving the portable unit around a bit and repeatedly clicking the button on the portable transmitter (to reactivate the signal )

If this fails then “RESET the universal transmitter to factory defaults”
1. Hold 2 outside buttons for 20 seconds - lights on solid then rapid flash.
2. Hold an additional 10 seconds till lights go out (now at factory default)
3. Go back to step 2 of above procedure.
