I posted info about the sound system i had installed in my 4.4i only to recieve 60% negative and indirectly racist comments. I live in Germany i am not white and always hated beamers because here they are driven by a lot of idiots. The x5 is fantastic and i could not resist and thought that anyone who could afford one and had such good taste could not possibly an idiot. Judging from the way some of you guys carry on i see that in america its just the same .... too many idiot beamer drivers. I am almost ashamed for you......
Frankly I think you are falling into the same trap - different opinions leading to "retorts".
You were obviously very proud of your custom installation - probably should be.
But some others may think this is "over the top" - and assume you are one of those people who "rather than appreciate a BMW for the driving qualities, have probably bought it as a status symbol and then ruined it by turning it into a Boom Box".
I am not saying you did that, but it is a common reaction by some people who are more traditionalist.
You were not expecting this negative feedback - but it comes with many posts - to any body that others think have done someting that they disagree with. Not a lot of pussy footing on these boards - better manners would be an improvement - but don't get bent out of shape when it does not happen.
