The antenna is in the left rear window. Its still 600mw, I don't know it they have a 3 watt kit yet. The StarTac hides in the console and pops out easily. That part of the install is nice, its easy to use the programmed numbers.
The negatives: Its really tough to manually dial from the dashboard, the caller ID doesn't show up on the dashboard (unforgiveable!) and they made it so proprietary that you have to use the BMW-sourced Startac only. (Greedy!)
The good news: the aftermarket Startac adapter that plugs into cigarette lighters does work fine with the BMW Startac so I can use the Startac in my 328. (BMW NA would not help me with this--has ignored my direct emails to K. D.)
(If I were as irresponsible about customer service as NA, my customers would get me fired. Customers like Intel, TI, IBM. Why do WE have to settle for less? I guess you get what you pay for.)

Will someone please come back with information regarding the installation of the BMW cell phone. I'm interested in things like where the antenna is placed, is it a 3watt phone or a 600mw phone, is it portable or is it a fixed installation, etc.
Thanks,
Serge Popper
