I understand your concerns. I've been fortunate that my dealership has been on top of the newest fixes for the 3.0. But it's also the largest volume dealership in the chicago area so they have had dozens vs a handful of 3.0 owners coming in for fine-tuning.

I think my X5 is very reliable and have been very impressed with the way BMW resolved the stall issue in a timely fashion. Plus BMW read my posts on this board and contacted my dealership to make appointments for me. I didn't have to do anything. Anyways my 3.0 didn't stall that often: 3-times over 3 months, but when it did stall it was always in conjested rush hour traffic in downtown chicago and created big problems such as a traffic jam, a mild bumper to bumper accident of everyone behind me following too close. so it was important to get the stall fixed because of the traffic situations I deal with on a daily basis. The only other bug to be fixed was one of my roadlights burnt out and had to be replaced. I never got any of the other problems posted on this board and I now have 7500 miles.

Of all the new cars I have purchased in the past, this vehicle has had the fewest amount of bugs to be fixed within the first 7500 miles and it's a first year model with a new engine design besides!

I hope you feel confident enough soon to order your own again. I would do it again in a heart beat. There is no other vehicle on the road for me that interests me more than what I have now.

Maybe the new lexus coupe convertible with the pearlescent leather interior coming out in a few years that I saw at the car show caught my eye a little. But if I ever desire one, it will be in addition to my X5 because I'm never going to grow tired of this vehicle and look forward to future models as it evolves.
