Before my X5 3.0i (sport/premium/climate pkgs), I also had a 99 Rodeo LS. I just can't say how lucky I got rid of that Rodeo and have the safest SUV(SAV) X5. I only owned my Rodeo for a year, I already felt that I will not be safe in it. If the road is dry, it drives ok with plenty of power, but still a truck-frame, so bumpy ride and screamy tires(no traction control). But once the road is wet, I have to be really careful because several times it swinged and twisted on the wet road since I stepped on gas little too much, and not to mention its terrible brake.

I have my X5 3.0i for almost 3 months and just feel this is the safest SUV that's on the market, the solid body & frame, excellent brake, DSC & traction-control, etc. I have read numerous posts/articles on how easy an SUV will roll over in an accident, e.g. Explorer, RX300 or even ML, but X5 would just slide instead of flip in those situations.

So, if you must buy another SUV, X5 is the safest one, at least right now.
