I also have the plastic--no Sport package and shdowline trim--and it cleans up fine with the rest of the car.
I'm using Griot's car wash (gritosgarage.com).

i have a x5 3.0 about 1 month old and the black molding between the doors has some sort of spots and marks.there are two different finishes to this car ,my is the flat finish not the plastic one i have just tried using water and no luck. what do i use ? also under the doors the black molding has spots
p.s. is the molding on my car anodized metal?
