Black exterior and sand interior with light wood is what we ordered and we like it. The interior of the X5 is so big and wide and expansive and the sand color makes it even more inviting. We thought the light wood would add to the open, airy, feel and I think it does. The dark wood is a traditional, olde style, Rolls/Bentley/Jaguar sort of trim that just didn't seem right. Also, the light wood really has a bird's-eye maple look to it which is one of our favorite wood finishes.

As for the Xenon lights, they are nice (we have them) but it takes some getting used to the very VERY sharp cut off zone. Many on this site have written to ask if the adjustment is correct and it usually is. I find the upper horizontal limit of the lights a bit too low.

For CD's, we went with the in dash CD player. First, I didn't need the Nav System. Second, I had the 6 CD changer in the rear of a ML 320 and did not like the inconvenience. It really is a personal thing, but because you had to go in the back, unscrew the plastic door, release and swing out the player, pop out the CD magazine, flip the lever to let the CDs out, then...Oh, where are the crystal cases for the CDs? Then you have to put the CDs in the correct way ("Next time I'll leave one in so I know how they go in correctly") and get the magazine in the correct way...anyway, if you like all of that or if you have experience with past cars with the ritual and you don't mind it - then get the 6 pack changer. What happened with us was that it was a pain to change and therefore, we kept the same six CDs in all the time. And fully half (3) had to be my sons choices. Good Grief!
