I had heard from a dealer that some do not get the dimming mirrors because on the X5 the privacy glass does not let enough light to pass through....therefore the auto dimming is never needed.........don't know if this is correct, but it was the first time in a while I can recall a dealer recommending a DELETION from the order list....jcs 00 540i and soon X5
