2) RPM's are WAY TOO high on the highway. 5th should have been taller. BMW needs a 6-speed and NOW.

Since the final drive ratio for both manual
and autmatic is the same (4.10 according
to X5 brochure), would the RPM at the highest
gear be the same? Is there anything else
affecting the RPM?
Just curious.

1 5.09 3.42
2 2.80 2.22
3 1.76 1.60
4 1.25 1.00
5 1.00 0.75
F 4.10 4.10 (final drive ratio)

Also how the Hill Descent Control works on
a manual transmission?
