For Two reasons,
1) Today's advanced security system becomes low end security system in few months as soon as the pros' learn a way to break it. Eventhough BMW will comeup with another advanced system, it would not for you car and doesn't benefit you.
I like the vehicle recovery part of the feature in LoJack as it is not found in any other systems.

2) You will get maximum discount on your insurance premium.

My theory is that you may want to install this when you buy the car. Otherwise you will never do it as you time and money will be priorotized for
other needs & wants.
