It strikes me a 'INCREDIBLE" that someone [who can afford to buy an X5, where it is clearly indicated that 91 or better should be used ] would even try to use below grade fuel.

This is finely crafted engine and the BMW engineers have come to the conclusion it needs premium... why would you want to second them ?

That premium would even be labeled incredibly expensive compared to regular is even weirder...
