I was driving it along a logging road coming from a fishing trip. The road was very steep and twisty (zig-zags), as I approached a corner I turned the steering wheel (as normal!!) and nothing happened. I was going maybe 40km/hr.
The truck would not respond to the steering wheel. as I entered the corner I managed to crash the truck into the bank on one side. I got out to inspect what had happened. The steering rack had snapped!! I had not been 4x4'ing. No rough stuff.
It just snapped. If it had happened a few seconds earlier I would have plunged of a few hundred feet high cliff. Got it out of the woods with the help of duck tape and took it to the dealer. He said that it was my fault, that I must have hit something and that it would not be covered by warranty(only 6 months old). Not only are the trucks crap, so is the service*which you will need lots of).
