I've heard many people say that the X5 drives like the 5 series sedans. I went into the test drive with that expectation. When it felt bouncy, I was surprised. It wasn't bouncy in a soft way but in a jarring kind of way like a truck with tight springs. It was not what I expected. Maybe the tires were over inflated.

Seemed like a well made car and maybe it is the closet thing out there in an SUV to a 5 series sedan but I would not compare the way it feels or drives to a 5 series sedan.

My intention is not to inflame but to give my opinion on the ride. I would not want others who read this to be as surprised as I was. At fault here is my expectations resulting from the people who described the ride as similar to the sedan. It was not. I would definitely buy one it it were. I like the high up driving position and the extra room of the SAV.

If you are considering the X5, don't expect the same feel as a 528, 530, 540. Do expect something better than the lexus RX300 or the Acura MDX.

That was my point.

It was a little too bouncy like a truck (but tight).

I'm sold on the new 530iA with the sport suspension. There's a night and day difference between the sport package feel and the standard suspension (on the 530).

George, I'm curious to know why you'd post an item like the one you've posted on this board?
Serge
