Just move the mirror switch that selects which mirror you are adjusting to the other side. Cannot remember if its left or right, but that will disable the mirror movement upon reversing.

Is the seat itself different in the base 3.0i vs the one with the Sport Package? I read about thigh support, etc. and want to know if that is all X5's or simply those with the Sport Pkg.
Also, what does the rear leveling do...other than leveling the back end of the vehicle (DUH )?
I am looking at a base 3.0i with automatic, a moonroof, and CD player. The vehicle has everything else I want and need (ok, for safety sake I would like the headlight washer thing but I don't like the other things in that package...what's a girl to do? ).
Finally, can the tilt-down passenger mirror be disabled? I don't need to look down when I reverse. We have a 100' mildly curving driveway with trees (and vehicles) all over. I almost hit the other car backing out in the dark with the test vehicle I have. That's a major safety issue for me. I guess if you are a city driver only it would be helpful but I can't see why this is a benefit for anyone not parallel parking. Probably just me, though.
Anyone out there have a base model with few options? Thoughts? Happy with it?
