BMW has done this for years with many models. 3 and 5 series where the first couple years they have the black skirting and then in later model years, match to the color of the car. So if the do the same with the X-5, don't expect if for another year or 2. My guess is that they will probably have matching skirts first on the M badged x-5 to distinguish it from the rest of the pack.
