I owned an RX300 for less than a year and gave it up for several reasons. X5 seems to have solved all the concerns I have and I'm truly glad I made
the switch.
Before you decide to switch yourself, I suggest
you take your target vehicle to a tight zigzag
road up and down a mountain, drive it when it's very windy, drive it in the snow, and read the warnings in the stickers and documentation about
the possibility of a vehicle rollover when a
quick steering wheel maneuver is done while at
high speed. I ain't kidding, safety is serious
business to me.
this is a list of problems i had with my x5 3.o since getting in July
1.it got into a minor accident 5 weeks ago it still sitting in the bodyshop because they haven't gotten the parts from Germany. yes the X5s are built in SC but they have to order parts from GErmany by boat. if you think i m joking call the BMW customer center to verify.
2.my X5 stalled and got it fixed
3.left winshield wiper squeaks, i ordered the blade and it took 2 months to receive it.
4.the speed of windshield wipers change by itself.
5.the CD skips sometimes
6.it's a bouncy ride on rough city streets. in smooth roads it's ok.
7.it doesn't handle like a bmw. im renting a Dodge Neon while my X5 is at the bodyshop and it actually outhandles X5.
8.it looks awesome but it does have minivan feel
9.the rims around muffler fell off, again i had to wait 2 months to get them.
10.overall i had a bad deal
i've owned x5 for only 3 months guess how many problems i will encounter in coming years.
screw BMW, i m selling it and getting lexus or new C class
