First you are correct in assuming the cd changer is not included. As for the changer from your '99 528i, well I have a '00 528i also and installed that changer myself in about 20 mins. You'll prob. have to get the correct bracket from Circle BMW and then it'll be a matter of bolting it in and plugging in the connectors.
Of course you can verify this with Circle yourself.
P/N for the 5 series changer is 82 11 1 469 404 which is the same as the X5 unit. Since you have the Nav also, the bracket P/N is 82 11 0 009 305.

I just leased a X5 3.0 with Navigation and Premuim Sound. Am I correct in assumming there is no CD player included? If not, can I take the CD changer out of my '99 528i with Business radio? Are they compatable?
