Based on past performance...I would guess, No. BMW cycles through tehir product lines on a pretty regular schedule, and now they're throwing resources into the 6 series, the new, smaller entry level, and will show the new 7's next. There's typically a facelift about halfway through a model's cycle, so it would seem that an "X" facelift would be due about 2003 or so. That may be influenced by the X5L or X7 work or release.
I got my personal philosophy from my dad: you can wait forever for the next improvement, but you can enjoy now what you buy now. I did wait about 8 months when I bought my E34 (525i) because the new engine was going to make "enough" difference to make the time worthwhile. However, I didn't wati for the next set of X5 enhancements, although I would like: hands-free phone with caller ID display, dvd nav system that is about 3 times faster, wider touchscreen, Servotronic steering (due this year).

I have a curiosity...the E39 just received the new headlights and kidney grill in 2001...since the X5 is based on the E39 platform...any chance for the X5 to get the same revisions in perhaps the 2002 model year?
Thanks in advance to all replies.

John
