Just took delivery on a beautiful, silver X5 3.0 and I am having a great time enjoying all it has to offer. I did not order the enhanced stereo system, primarily because I (at the time) did not think it was worth the money and I was unable to test (not an example at dealer). I do have the in-dash CD.
I may have made a mistake, although I think the stock system is OK at low volumes, unfortunately becomes canned at higher volumes.

Questions:
1. How can I now upgrade?
2. Am I only missing DSP and a couple of subs?
3. Does the stock system have an amp (same amp?)
4. Can I purchase these items at a BMW authorized dealer or buy from a reputable audio store?
5. Has anyone else been in the same situation and experienced favorable results?

I ran into the same situation and I'm looking into adding the DSP. I checked with Louie at Pacific BMW's mail order dept. He didn't have much of the details into installing it but he did say that the DSP can be ordered for $689.00 (retails for $995) You can have this plugged in to your audio system but the dealer has to code it. I didn't get the info on the amp and the subs. Maybe someone on the board can comment on this.
