After test driving almost every SUV & wagon out there, yesterday I put a deposit on an X-5 3.0 with 10K miles on it that the salesman told me was a BMW "program" car, however he wrote "demo" on the invoice. It was built May 2000. My main question is; should I be wary of buying one of the first 3.0's built, probably. Also, he said the warranty started when it was built so I'd have 3 1/2 years left; does that sound right? I'm getting a whole $2600 off of MSRP; doesn't seem like a lot but I need a vehicle soon as my beloved M6 is out of commision for awhile, so I can't really wait to order one. Of course the salesman did the "this car will not last the weekend" bit on me, which is probably true actually. Any advice on any of this would be appreciated!
