IS it to late to add NAVIGATION SYSTEM (archive)

I recently ordered a 4.4i. I opted for the performance center pick up in NC and was told that I would not be able to pick up my X5 until the first week of December. Therefore I requested that my dealer put in the Navigation system. My dealer told me that the vehicle was in the production completed status and that it was to late to add the Nav system. I don't agree with him because the vehicle is still in the factor with a pick up date in December. If any one is familiar with this please let me know if it is too late.
