23 MPG... noooo waaaay! If you drove a flat 840mls with no traffic.. you might be lucky and get 18-19 (X5 is really bad on gas!) and thats high.... but we all know you didnt run flat and any where you go... there is no way you wont run into mountains in 840 miles and that eats up more gas.. lol not to bash you but there is no way you got 23MPG!

P.S. My first trip in my X5 was awsome and I went up to the mountains near Sacramento valley. ^_^


I'd have to disagree with you on the gas. My 4.4 got about 18 mpg out of the box. I drive in mountainous Virginia. My average trips are about two hours and when going about 60 mph I'm up to 20.5 mpg. My speedometer seems to be about 2.5 mph slow as compared to the gps. However, the car computer seems to give the right mph, therefore, possibly the right MPG????
