No, I did not have to buy anything other than the mounting kit. My X5 does not have the premium
sound nor the NAV, so I only had to connect the cables mentioned in the install, and these cables
where already in the trunk space.

However, while installing the changer, I did notice a coax or fiber-optic "like" cable in the
trunk. I think that is the cable that you need to use if you have premium sound or the NAV.

I tried to do my install tonight. Did you have to buy the digital audio cable separately? How much? And from where?

I bought the 6-disc cargo cd-changer and its mounting kit for $420 (including shipping) from
Pacific BMW last week.

Installation was simple, HOWEVER, it did take me about 2 hours to install. Just make sure you go
to the following web site and download their installation instructions, as it is better than
the one which comes with the BMW mounting kit.

BTW, You will need a socket wrench for this job.

Can you get a cd-changer for an x5 4.4i cheeper than the dealer's price. If so, please let me know
