I have a black Z3 and a black X5. A little work on a weekly basis can keep your black vehicle looking good. But first- I keep my cars outside (no garage) and when they get munged up in winter I leave them alone. And I never go to a car wash. Never.

My secret for 9-10 months out of the year, is to use one of the "speed wash" products that are out there. In other words, the car(s) never get really dirty. I use Griot's SpeedShine. Both the X5 and the Z3 can be done in 15 minutes. I don't always do the roof of the X5. Use a California Feather Duster every day or so. I wax 3 or 4 times a year. Most of the time I use the full bore clay and polish and wax deal. I use Griot's stuff. I just don't do a full wash a lot.

One more thing- keep the wheels clean. Yeah, I use the Griot's stuff for that too. Clean the wheels once a week. Wax them if you want, it is better.
