Just for the record, the 3.0 engine is not a V6 engine but an I6 (inline 6 cyl). BMW never build V6 engines, even the X5 3.0d will have a diesel engine with all 6 cyl in one line. This results in a very typical character of the engine and also a beautifull sound in the higher revs.
