I'm also interested in a radar detector in which I can have installed remotely, so that the main unit is not visible. I have seen them in the 7 series and various other cars, but which one set-up is the best and how can I find more information on it? I would assume that the systems use a sensor mounted in th front grill and the rear bumper or underskirt, right?

For my money, and this is my second detector from these folks, I'd go for a K-40. It all depends what you want. I like the undetectable system which covers front and back, radar and lazer. All you have visible inside the car is a switch and four LED s. Hidden are two piezo speakers, each about an inch in diameter and 1/8 of an inch thick. The thing is totally undetectable by radar detector detectors. Thieves will not see any sign of a radar detector in your car. If you want to know more, I'd suggest the S3000SWL nd you can find it at http://www.k40.com/Son/SonSuprLsrFtrs.html
I've been using their systems for four years, I've tried others and I find K-40 to be the best. A good person to speak with at K-40 is Terry in Customer Service. Good luck,
Serge
