We got our Topaz X5 in early June. My wife moved from a 1996 328i and we sold our 1991 525. She had the same feeling about the X: it was big on the road, tough to park, etc. and she had the same concerns about getting in--she's about 5'6". We even considered the running boards, but tried them on a demo and they weren't much help.

Now, she tells me the 328 is "my" car, but I get the X5 sometimes. we have no problems with driving, and with the PDC, parking is pretty easy.

If you moved from a smaller car to the X5, I suggest you spend a few weeks driving around--but try & avoid the downtown SF shopping crazies the next few weeks.

I took delivery on a 2001 Topaz loaded 3.0-black interior with light wood.Auto Trans., retractable laod floor, everything. The problem is this. I am feeling that this vehicle is too big for me. I'm having a hard time just getting in and out of it. It's a fantastic vehicle, I just need something smaller. Anyone interested? I'll consider selling it if I can do so without loosing any dough! I paid $59477.24. As of today, I have just under 200 miles on it. Thanks, all.
